A Warm Hello, from ASI's Chief Visionary Officer

Dear Fellow South Africans,

As the country, along with the rest of the world, continues to grapple with the ripple effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the devastating impact it has had on every individual and business alike, I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that ASI remains resolute to its purpose which is to help our clients build wealth and change lives in the process.

Whilst this global pandemic has sadly forced many businesses to take tough decisions, it has also shown us as business leaders that resilience is not something one can be taught in a boardroom or at university; resilience is a super-power we all already have within us. Now, more than ever, South Africa needs resilient leaders who truly appreciate the priceless value of human life and the impact it has on human capital. Caring for our employees, supporting our friends and family… all acts of humanity we need to remain cognisant of as we soldier on and lead by example.

As South Africa continues to surf many waves of uncertainty – from negative economic impact to emotional distress – I encourage everyone reading this note to please take stock of their own lives as well as the many blessings we should all be grateful for.

I believe that it is this profound awareness which will see us through these unprecedented times.

ASI and its team of astute professionals remains committed to assisting our clients’ employees, and their families during this time of need, and beyond. Never have we all required greater consideration for employees and their physical and mental wellbeing than right now – I strongly encourage employers to retain & enhance these benefits during this difficult period.

After sadly losing close friends as well as a direct family member, I too was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 and subsequently hospitalised and placed in ICU until a few days ago. As someone who has always been cognisant of the immense value of life and love, this unimaginable virus has opened my eyes even further. I am immensely grateful for all the love, prayers, support, and concern everyone has shown me over the past few weeks.

I am also incredibly grateful to our dynamic partners at Netcare as well as Discovery who supported both me and my family throughout this horrific ordeal. To all the Nurses, Doctors, Specialists and Administrators at Netcare, I salute & thank you from the bottom of my heart – you all place your own lives at great risk each day whilst attempting to help rebuild our beautiful nation and keep its citizens safe and healthy.

ASI values our clients and their business. I say thank you for your continued loyalty towards our organisation, we could not have made it this far without your incredible support.

With only two guarantees in life: Time and Change, I implore you to use your time wisely in order to effect the positive, sustainable change our country needs right now. Let us all continue to live life with great purpose and help create a wonderful legacy for future generations to come.

To those of you who have sadly lost loved ones or team members as a result of COVID-19, I send my deepest condolences – you remain in my thoughts & prayers.

Finally, I wish you and your families much love and good health and look forward to engaging with you again soon.

Stay resilient, stay safe!

Love,
Anthony.
